Guidelines and Procedures:
- Presenter(s) must provide the NWGCA moderator with the presentation slides and/or outline 7 days prior to the program date.
- Presentation slides may mention the presenter's business/organization name, business contact information, and business logo (if applicable). Presentation slides may not include specific product or service offerings, pricing of products or services, or testimonials.
- Prior to the program, the presenter(s) must meet with the moderator to plan the details of the program and to perform an audio/video check.
- On the scheduled date for the event, the presenter(s) must log on 30 minutes prior to the program start time for an audio/video check. At the start of the program, the NWGCA moderator will introduce the presenter and share the process by which questions will be addressed.
- For online programs, the presenter(s) must have a fast and reliable Internet connection, a high-quality speaker and camera, and a quiet place from which to present.
- NWGCA is a nonprofit association. The purpose of the Association is to inform families and the public of the special needs of gifted children by disseminating information; by encouraging the development of programs responsive to the needs of gifted children; by informing families and the public about legislative efforts on behalf of gifted children; and by supporting policies or practices which promote these programs. The objective of this program is to support the NWGCA purpose, not promote the presenter’s products or services.
- If a presenter wants to promote their products or services, they may mention the product and/or service while speaking but should not make a sales pitch or mention specific pricing.
- If a presenter wants to sell or provide sales/promotional/educational materials at or during the program, they must seek case-by-case permission in advance from the NWGCA board. In no case may a product be sold during the presentation itself. If sales, educational, or promotional materials are made available, the following NWGCA disclaimer shall be prominently posted: NWGCA does not endorse any product, service, publication, medication, or treatment discussed in this material.
- In consideration for the presenter’s time and expertise in the service of NWGCA’s mission, the presenter will be provided with a $75 stipend. To receive the stipend, the presenter must submit a check request to the NWGCA treasurer within 30 days of the event.
- NWGCA reserves the right to distribute a PDF of the presentation slides and disseminate the actual recording of the program as it sees fit. All rights to the material in the program remain the property of the presenter(s); however, the presentation itself and excerpts of the presentation belong to NWGCA.
- Any presenter who sells within a NWGCA program without prior permission from the board, or violates any other procedure outlined above, will not be invited to speak again.
